Firstly, I would like to share the good news with you today, namely that as of today, we have already been able to deliver 7 sewing machines! At the moment, the women who have applied for the project are learning how to use the machines under the guidance of a knowledgeable woman. This will take about 4 weeks so that they can then actually produce clothing for the local textile industry. Of course, despite all the necessary work, we don't want to lose sight of our goal: people should be able to live through their work and in such a way that their work supports their human dignity. The aim is therefore not to maximise profits, but to ensure a livelihood through work. We have therefore decided that 50% of the work and payment of the workers should belong to the working women. The other 50% should be made available to the local children. All needs, from food to clothing, medicine, energy etc. should be co-financed from this 50%. On the one hand, this ensures that the workers are valued, as 50% of their work is for themselves, and on the other hand, 50% of their earnings also contribute to the community in which they all live, especially the orphans who no longer have a parent.
Now for the less good news, because of the purchase of these machines we currently have too few donations for the purchase of essential foodstuffs, so we urgently need your support for this. Furthermore, we would of course like to purchase the calculated 25 machines as quickly as possible so that the project can unfold its full efficiency. I therefore ask you from the bottom of my heart to continue to support this important project! At the moment we still need 3600.- € for the missing 18 sewing machines (1 sewing machine costs 200.- €) to enable all women interested in the project to work. If you would like to do this, please write the keyword "sewing machine" in the purpose of the transfer. For the necessary food, however, we need around € 2500.- for the next 4 weeks in order to be able to feed the 116 children and the mothers of the half-orphans well. Thank you for your support!
